Price of Sweat

Currently, the price of sweat is 1.8 - 2.2 PED per 1000 units although you may be able to get a better deal in places like Next Island where the supply of sweat is much lower. I've heard a few arguments for the price of Sweat to increase in the coming months but it heavily depends on not only the in game market but the will of sweaters to sell their sweat for a decent rate. What do you think? Do you think sweat is heading higher like many sweat stockpillers or do you think its destined for the current rate or perhaps lower. Sound off in the comment section below.

Guide to Calypso Gateway for Beginners

Hey All, So I recently completed a chain of missions in Calypso Gateway. Not only did I benefit with a huge increase in skills but I also got loot, weapons, ammunition and even a vehicle from these missions. I've decided to post a rough outline of this mission chain in order to help you guys benefit the most from these missions. New players should try to take this mission set IMMEDIATELY in order to gain some base skills and weapons in order to be able to improve in Calypso. They will also teach you the workings of the game which will help those tremendously who are just starting their PC/EU journey. While you do these missions I highly recommend that you utilize the mission interface by turning tracking on for your missions. This will help point you in the right direction every time you have it enabled. Trust me, it will save you a lot of time wandering aimlessly throughout the expanse of Calypso. ALSO, if the mission tells you that you need to use the vehicle in order to continue DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. I completed all these missions and did not use the vehicle one time. For auction purposes, you might want to not use the vehicle in order to get the most ped from it possible. Anyways, more of that later. Calypso Gateway Missions: First mission: help with repairs and fight off some L1 mobs Talk to the mission vender located just to the right of where you are initially dropped when you enter Calypso Gateway. gain weapon and ammo worth .40 ped Second mission: help kill off some enemies The mission chain will lead you directly to this mission so just stick with it as it guides you further into Calypso Gateway. gain xp and .40 PED of ammo Third mission: help with research, bring research to base, synthesize information This is where you are given the vehicle. Again I highly recommend not using it if you truly want to make the most of your precious PED while on Calypso. The missions DO NOT REQUIRE you to drive even if they tell you to hurry. After you complete the missions and sell all the various non auctionable loot you should auction this vehicle off with the starting bid at 1 Ped and a buyout of anywhere from 2-4 PED depending on if you want to increase your chances of a return or gamble and try to gain more PED. Always research what the same item is auctioning for on the market so you can adjust your time span and auction price accordingly. get vehicle worth .20 ped, ~2 Ped in auction and .10 ped worth of gasoline gain .05 ped T1 healing device. Gain .35 - 2.15 Ped+ (- auction fee of course) -have to buy 100 synthetic mind essence for .01 ped at Trade Terminal -get 2 hides for .02 ped to sell. Profit .01 ped Fourth mission set: mine for oil Mine 10 units of oil get drilling xp Fifth Mission: Surveying and Mining Retrieve Genesis Star Rookie Finder, Genesis Star Rookie Extractor, 16 survey probes. Reward: .10 PED weapon cells Whatever minerals you can collect. Travel to Scott's Ridge and talk to Rusty. Sixth Mission: Rifles, Assemble Pickup Hardened Zinc Ingot (96/48) Cured Alicenies Gel (24/12) Genesis Star Gel Batteries (12/6) Genesis Star Plastic Ruds (36/18) Manufacture Three Rifles Get weapon in return. Seventh Mission: Shooting Star Search for traces of the missing shuttle craft. Gain Skildek P30 worth .80 PED at start Gain 2000 Explosive Projectiles worth .20 PED Find surviving crew Blow up robotic sensor Head back to Rusty Gain Weapon worth .09 PED Eight Mission: Hangar Hangout Travel to SpacePort Helios Head to Teleporter Go to Camp Icarus and Report to Captain Hayes Inspect and Repair Camp Icarus Guns (5) Bomb the base mission piece of face armor worth .10 ped -------------------------------------- So, as you can see there is a lot of loot to be had in all these missions. Some of the loot is not able to be sold or auctioned at all (mining equipment and the .80 ped gun) but can still come in handy down the line if you do intend to use it. I recommend that you try not to use any ammo if possible on these missions in order to maximize the PED you profit. I highly recommend this mission chain. Not only is it fun but you can earn some really good starting PED for future investments.

Update Twin Peaks and Next Island

Hey all, Just wanted to let you know Twin Peaks and Next Island are apparently the best places currently to sell sweat. Apparently the current sell price is 1.5 - 2 PED per 1000 units in Twin Peaks while next island is in the 2 - 2.5 PED range. There has been a large drop off in sweaters in Port Atlantis due to the robots that have replaced the combibo and other natural mobs outside the city. Most people have gone to Calypso Gateway or to the south east swamps of Port Atlantis to sweat/ swunt now. I highly recommend Calypso Gateway just because it has a great assortment of mobs that are low levels In other news, I've been chipping away more sweat and have discovered a few mobs that have given me 20 units instead of the usual 10. Not sure if this is a new thing or not but it is definitely something to look into. I'll update my skills and inventory in the next post. Good luck sweating :)

Hey all!

This is the 20th Post here at Calypso Profit and I'm here to tell you that I'm finally feeling some momentum within PC and I think if I can maintain a steady pace profit will not be too far off. Although I've recently spent a good chunk of my PED I've acquired a good deal of sweat and loot that I'm waiting to sell. I'm gonna continue to swunt (sweat hunt) and try to gain more experience and loot along the way.

Trading, a good way to exchange sweat for ped

So, I've been having a difficult time trying to find a buyer for my 3000 sweat so I decided to get crafty in order to make some PED off of it. What I decided to do was offer bartering for my PED and offered to buy peoples equipment/weapons for more but only by giving them sweat. I ended up trading my 3000 sweat for 3 items worth 5.6 PED if I sold them immediately. Although I lost around a PED on the deal, I ended up getting one item that I might be able to sell using the auction feature.

I highly recommend trying to trade your sweat instead of selling it because quite frankly its becoming really hard to find a seller. I hear Twin Peaks is a great market for selling sweat and there are also occasional buyers in the North and South swamp camps.

I've also been sweating and killing some more which has led to my strength to go up as well as my longblades and anatomy skills. Things are going well! I also still have a ton of loot to sell but I've been using some of it to repair my enblade.

Here are my new stats!

Woot Woot! Just made some PED!

Hey everyone,

So, as you may have seen in my last post I invested all of my remaining ped (2.30ish) into my enblade. So I had a series of good fortune over the past couple of hours and not only was I given a large amount of items for FREE, But I also used my enblade and looted a LARGE amount of stuff. Here is my loot list with all the values and also the list of the things I was given by a very nice member of Planet Calypso named Kristin ( thanks again!! ).

Loot List:

Loot 1/18

Goin for broke...

Hey all,

So I decided to invest my remaining ped into repairing my enblade. Hopefully I can loot enough to continue repairing the enblade until I can sell some of this sweat. It was a tough decision but every now and then you get lucky in PC and loot something worth while. Here is to hoping!

Back At It

Hey Folks,

Sorry I've been away for a while. My computer kind of died recently and it has prevented me from playing any Planet Calypso. But! I have a new computer now which has helped made it easier to play!

I've spent a couple of days gathering sweat and killing creatures. I sold off some Christmas gifts that were given to me for free ingame. I've also surpassed 2000 sweat. Onward to 3000! Or will I sell it. Last I saw sweat was going for 2.4Ped/K. Yuck, we shall see how this goes!

Continuing to sweat

I've been working diligently to improve my sweating inventory and skills as well. I'm hoping by combining sweating and hunting it will pump up both of those skills and help me increase my chances of making PED in the long term. I did a bit of exploring by The Lake North West of Port Atlantis. Killed a couple of lower mobs and gained some sweat as well. I'm working towards 2,000 sweat now and I think I'm finally going to look for a buyer. Lets see how long it takes!

Guide to Sweating for Beginners

Starting out in Planet Calypso is very difficult so I figured this quick little guide would help those looking to really start cranking out that sweat.

Guide to Sweating for Beginners

So, you've finished creating your character and you've been teleported to Port Atlantis. Now what?? That question is one that many Planet Calypso players ask themselves shortly after making it inside the game. New players only start off with a beaten up jumpsuit and the free tool used to collect sweat within the game. From here you have two options, either A. deposit some money into the Planet Calypso universe or B. decide to take the challenging route and earn without depositing anything.

Now if you decide to deposit make sure you spend your money wisely. Mining can be a good investment but it can also be a way to blow a ton of PED in a short amount of time. I recommend if you do deposit to be very conservative with how you spend and focus on a couple specific areas (hunting, sweating, crafting, etc).

For those who aren't depositing

Most people decide to try to wing it and see how hard it is to make PED within Planet Calypso. In fact it is very difficult, especially at the beginning, to accumulate PED seeing as the only ways to make money without spending money are to gather sweat from creatures or finding stones, dung, and fruit on the ground.

I recommend that you take your only tool, the sweat gathering one, and head towards the North West of Port Atlantis (the city where they start you off). Right on the outskirts of town there are very low level mobs (L1+L2). I recommend that you spend most of your time trying to gather sweat from these low level creatures since they will damage you less than the others that exist throughout the in game world.

Heres the proper way to sweat:
First, equip the free sweating tool.
Second, go to the outskirts of Port Atlantis and find some low level mobs
Third, right click on the mob and click on the status bar, this will pop the status bar out so you can move it wherever and be able to click it at all times (its a lot harder to try to keep clicking the mob, especially since they move a ton).
Fourth, with the tool equipped click the status bar until you see a green flash that focuses on the mob, if your concentration holds you will earn some sweat.
Fifth, when you completely drain a mob, run back to a turret or the entrance of town and it will shoot down the mob, allowing you to turn around and find another mob.

The thing about sweating, especially as a beginner is: You ARE going to die a LOT. This sounds horrible but taking hits against enemies actually builds up many skills on your character. The more times you die the more skills you earn which in the end help you die a lot less. It's important to spend a lot of time acquiring these skills from dying because eventually you can sell your built up skills by putting them on an implant and selling that implant at the auction house. This will take a lot of time but as you watch your skills increase think about how in the future you could potentially tap into these skills for other purposes (PED).

When you first start sweating you will notice that you will barely get any sweat units and that it takes quite a while to drain the mobs (low level mobs all have 10 units of sweat in them). As you gain more and more skills relating to sweat gathering, (Evade, sweat gatherer, athletics, courage, etc). You will progressively be able to sweat quicker and not die as much.

For beginners, this is the best place to start. It might also be a good idea to look around for a society that fits your interest because sometimes they can be extremely helpful.

Remember, most importantly wait until you have 1000 units of sweat to sell because otherwise there is a good chance you will get ripped off.

Walking for stones, fruit, and or dung

=================
TIPS

* Set your character to walk by opening the option box. You will not find anything if you are in run mode.
* Walk through areas that are away from teleporters.
* In Port Atlantis walk outside of the limits in order to find items.
* Be patient!
=================

I've spent a decent amount of time recently walking throughout Planet Calypso. Sure the sights are nice but my main goal isn't to find a hidden spot within Calypso. Today I'm looking for stones, fruit, or dung. Yes, dung. Why you ask?

Well, when you set your character in walk mode you are able to easily see items located on the ground such as those mentioned above. Items on the ground can be sold for trade or auction for very good prices. Better yet, finding them takes absolutely no investment money wise. Time wise, however, is a much different story.

On the many forums in the Planet Calypso community there are many stories of people finding large deposits of stones on the ground. So, I decided to take a little break from sweating and hunting to try my luck at "walking". Despite nearly an hour of walking my trip came up pretty empty handed although I did find some good locations for future mining and walking trips. I'm hoping that my luck changes and I will strike it rich in some fruit. At the very least I will gain a few skills from dying from high level creatures.

That's all for now (stat updates next time)

1000 Sweat!

Judging by the title you've probably realized I hit my 1000th bottle of sweat which means I finally have the opportunity to sell it for good market value. After asking around a bit I found out that sweat is currently going for 2.5-2.8 (far from its former 5) PED. I figure I might continue to gather more sweat before I sell but if the opportunity arises I might just go for it.

Keep in mind however, that means it will take 400,000 bottles of sweat to hit the 1000 PED mark. YIKES! Because of this, I'm looking to utilize hunting and sweating to get to that important 1000 mark.

I spent 5+ PED to repair my Enblade again but I did gain a lot of experience and I gained another .1 tier on it. Plus I looted about .60 PED so far with it while sweating.

Here are my updated stats:

The Mission Continues

Hey all,

I've been slowly chipping away at my goal recently and managed to up some skills somewhat quickly. Hopefully, my skills such as evade, sweat gatherer, and atheltics continue to improve because these skills will directly help me in my goal of gathering as much sweating as possible.

Anyways, here are the most recent stats:

Huntin' and Sweatin in the NW Port Atlantis corner

I've continued to invest some more time and energy into this dual operation of sweating and hunting low level mobs around Port Atlantis. So far I've managed some small results but today I was not quite as profitable as the last excursion. I managed to increase my sweat inventory to 824 which is slowly creeping towards the all important 1000 units. Typically people buy sweat in large 1000+ increments due to sweats low sell price (especially lately) and the always potent supply of sweat.

Anyways, I recently auctioned some Nova Fragments which I've been slowly collecting but so far they haven't sold. I spent 2.30 to repair my Castorian Combat Enblade-A but I didn't net nearly that much in loot.

I did however gain a new rank in athletics which I am happy about! Looks like I'm still a long ways off from my goal however.

Dabbling can be dangerous

Hey all!

I've recently spent a good amount of time on Planet Calypso continuing my quest to try and profit in Planet Calypso. Slowly I've been acquiring skills and getting more efficient at things like sweating and hunting. Most of my time has been spent recently to the North West of Port Atlantis, the starting point within the game.

Although I've been playing for a while I've learned it takes quite a considerable amount of time to gain the skills needed in order to challenge the larger mobs. So lately I've been hunting L1-L3 mobs after sweating them dry. The lower level mobs only have a maximum of 10 sweat a piece. By sweating mobs dry and then killing them off you are able to do two things at once to gain PED.

I lucked out today when I killed a dry Bereclyde that had 1.71 PED worth of loot inside. Quite the find (although others are well known for finding more). Hopefully with some hard work and dedication I can work my way up the levels and kill the higher level mobs sooner than later.

I made the mistake of dabbling in mining and wasted around 10 PED to only make back 3.5. Definitely not an ideal return. Luckily my hunting remained profitable!

Anyways, here are the updated stats:

PED: 12.17

Back in the Swing of Things

Hey all,

It's been a while since I posted last and I figured I would let you all know I am still going at it. I've had a little bit of trouble getting Planet Calypso to load but lately it has been loading normally again. I ended up spending a bit of my money over the past few weeks on a new blade that I've been using while sweating on the western side of Port Atlantis. This has helped me gain a bit of loot money although my repairs are costing me quite a bit. Its a bit hard to earn cash while sweating but I've found the L1 mobs tend to be unable to kill me before I can drain them of sweat. Hopefully the L2 Mobs will be next! Here's my stats updates

PED: 16.10

The Quest Continues

Hey all!

So my quest continues! I've been spending a lot of time sweating recently and have gained a considerable amount of PED through last time's sales of sweat and items. I've made some decent amount of progress although I do remain only 2% towards my ultimate goal of 1000 PED in order to withdraw. Anyways, I will continue forward in an attempt to make a profit on Planet Calypso!

Here are this times stats:
